We have created a unique brand identity reinforcing our commitment to supporting and developing sustainable livestock initiatives within local agricultural communities. Brookfield Farm portrays a visual profile of farming with provenance integrity and quality distinction and is named after the home farm owned by Ben Bayer, one of our principal founders.
Brookfield Farm brand encompasses only products with honest West Country provenance, that is, livestock that is born and reared in either Dorset, Somerset, Devon or Cornwall – ‘Fresh from the West Country’.
Animal contentment and wellbeing is our principal consideration and all products sold under the brand will display the Freedom Foods accreditation label, substantiating that all of our farmers and production units have been audited and approved by the RSPCA through its Freedom Foods organisation.
Our farming and processing operations function at the highest level of protocol, ensuring that all of our livestock species are produced to best practice standard. This results in excellent meat quality created with care and sensitivity.
This is crucial to UK farming’s long term security. We have recently made a significant commitment to farming sustainability with the creation of a joint venture, Tarrant Valley Livestock, with David Tory, one of our beef and veal calf farmers. The total supply chain costs from conception to slaughter are shared across investment, livestock and rearing, ensuring that the farmer has a future guarantee for volumes and prices paid. Only higher protocol livestock programmes, across all species, will be sold under the Brookfield Farm brand, ensuring that fair prices are paid to our farmers, thus enhancing future sustainability.
This is crucial to UK farming’s long term security. We have It may be perceived that with higher protocol livestock and therefore higher costs, that products will be too expensive on a relative basis. Certainly, our product is honestly priced, ensuring great animal welfare and farming sustainability, but this does not always equate to expensively priced end product. Compassionate husbandry, whilst assuring animal welfare, also ensures economic livestock production, enabling a competitive edge to be maintained.
